A borgesian book remixer tool

The Library of Forking Paths is a Borgesian book remixer created in C# and Unity. It takes whatever source material you give it, combines all the words, and then creates new titles and stories. Every time you pull a book off the shelf, the title is different. And every book lasts as long as you have the drive to turn the pages.

You can play the Library of Forking Paths as a WebGL build on Itch. The source material includes :

-Selections from the Mahabharata (a Sanskrit epic)
-The Theogony (a Greek creation story)
-Selections from the Epic of Gilgamesh (a Sumerian epic/the earliest surviving work of great literature)
-the Popol Vuh (a K'iche' creation story)
-Selections from the Epic of Sundiata (a Malinke epic)

You can also download the source code from GitHub to make your own version. The Library of Forking Paths is available under the MIT License.

This project was created as part of an MFA thesis project that ultimately got scrapped. The book generator was one of the assets I was tasked with making, but others contributed to its development: Mary Georgescu (design), Connor Carson (programming), Palmmy Sivarapornsakul (art and UI), and the code help desk at NYU's Game Center.
