about me

Hi! I’m Elizabeth, and I’m a game designer, writer, and developer. I’m just as comfortable writing nonfiction deep dives into the gaming world as I am designing and programming narrative systems.

I am skilled at prototyping/developing both digital and analog games using the following tools:

  • Game Engines - Unity, Godot, Twine, Inform 7

  • Programming Languages - C#, Lua, GDScript, Inky

  • Design Tools - Maya, Substance Painter

I am also an experienced essayist, critic, and journalist. My work on video games has appeared on Kotaku, VICE Games, Fanbyte, the New York Videogame Critics’ Circle, and Not Your Mama’s Gamer. My theater criticism/reporting has appeared in DC Metro Theater Arts, where I was formerly a features writer, and The Washingtonian.

Before I entered the games industry, I worked first in publishing and then in business content development. I hold an MFA in game design from New York University’s Game Center. In addition, I have a BA in English and Spanish from the University of Virginia, where I concentrated on literary prose and contemporary Spanish literature.

I am available for game design/development projects; freelance writing about games, theater, and books; and editing/researching assistance.
